He Knows And Cares

 

"Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." 1 Peter 5:7

This morning the word is for those of you who feel like God has forgotten you and He doesn't know what you are going through. It's for those who are wondering where God is and why doesn't He care. I want to remind you that He does know and He does care. Let me give you the scripture He gave me for you. "Aren't two sparrows sold for only a penny? But your Father knows when any one of them falls to the ground." (Matthew 10:29 CEV)

It may look like God is no where near, it may feel like He doesn't care, but on the contrary, He cares for you very much and very deeply. The fact that your Father in heaven knows when even one little sparrow falls to earth and dies should give you a great deal of comfort because you are of much more value to Him than a sparrow. You are the "apple of His eye". You are the object of His love. He did not withhold His own Son but freely gave Him as the ransom for your sins. He died for you... that's just how much He cares for you.

Don't let your feelings or circumstance lie to you and tell you that He doesn't care. He does. Keep your trust in Him. Rest secure in His love for you. You may not feel Him or see Him at the moment, but hold on to His love by faith and you will see Him in due season.

Have a great day. If He cares about a little sparrow enough to notice when it falls, remember He cares about you more. Have a Jesus Filled day!God Bless!

You Are Safe in God

Uphold me according to your promise,

that I may live, and let me not be put to shame in my hope!

Hold me up, that I may be safe

and have regard for your statutes continually!

(Psa 119:116-117 ESV)

 

This world can sometimes be a pretty tough and cold place.

It's often hard to feel safe and loved

in an environment where most people fight for their own survival.

 

If you know God in an intimate way,

He can provide for you a place of comfort and safety

where you can be yourself and know that you are loved as you are.

 

He doesn't harm you, nor does He demand anything from you

in order for you to receive His love.

He is the only place where you can feel totally safe and wanted.

 

Where you know that you count and are special – very special.

If you want to experience that love, just surrender your all to Him.

Let go of your fear, pride, anger and unbelief.

 

He knows you better than you know yourself,

and he loves you more than anyone else.

Where Is My Help?

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah" (Psalm 46:1-3)

Sometimes, as I am driving past a serious automobile collision I try to imagine what it would be like for those people. One minute they are traveling toward their destination, minds set on what is going to be happening that day, and the next they are on their way to the hospital and perhaps months or years of therapy, pain, or heartache.

Over and over I have planned out my day and have something unexpected happen. Sometimes it is a small thing like the notification I mentioned saying someone installed a phone somewhere and the bills were going to come to us. Sometimes it is a large thing.... sickness, death, or disaster of some kind.

I often feel like one of those spiders that walks on the surface of the water. When the water is smooth I have no problem walking on the surface. However, the water often gets rough. Sometimes it turns into a hurricane situation where the waves are 50 feet high. What can I do?

There is only one thing to do. I must turn to God. I don't have to look for Him or wait for Him. He is right by my side all the time. He has what I need. He can change the situation or He can carry me through it. With His help I will be able to survive.

I won't just survive, either. I will be able to experience joy where there is no joy. I will be able to have peace where there is no peace. Notice the scripture doesn't just say God is a help in trouble, He is a VERY PRESENT help! So often, as we thrash about trying to survive, we forget that He is standing next to us with His hand out saying, "Take My hand. I will help you. Lean on Me."

It has taken me many years to be able to see Him in the midst of trouble. It is my own fault. When times were good I wasn't communing with Him every day. I wasn't searching the scriptures to find out more about Him and His Kingdom. Once I developed a friendship with Him where He is in my mind all the time then I found that He was my first thought when things happened. I moved Him up in the priority list of my mind to the top place. He became my best Friend. He became my daily Companion. It was only me that was hindering that relationship, not Him.

Can you handle ANYTHING that happens today? I guarantee you that, with God's help, you will be able to handle whatever comes along

God is Your Refuge

Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him! (Psa 34:8)

Situations can never control your life.
What really controls you, is your heart.
If your heart is focused on situations,
you will be troubled. If your heart is at rest
in God's love and care, you will be peaceful.

God is your safety where you can hide
in times of pain, fear or worry.
He understands your pain better than you do.
He knows you from the inside out!
Therefore He can give you more peace
and comfort than you can imagine.

Rest in Him. He is your hiding place...
Whether you are in pain, fear need or anxiety...
the Lord God almighty is on your side!

He will always be close to you!

The Security of Love

'I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord' (Romans 8:38-39 KJV).

One way we experience God's love is in the security we find in him. As we face the uncertainties of life, Paul's eloquent words in Romans 8:38-39 give us great assurance.  Our son, his wife and our grandchildren are living in a fairly dangerous area in a developing nation. I am often asked if I worry about their safety. My reply is a quotation which I heard years ago: "Safety is not the absence of danger, but the presence of the Lord." Whoever wrote those words must have received the idea from King David, who wrote from a dangerous place, 'I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety' (Psalm 4:8, KJV). God is with his children, and as he is love, we can rest in the security that the presence of the all-powerful One is with us" (Clyde Cook).

Prayer,
Lord, we can do nothing to be worthy of Your love. We are so thankful that You loved us so much that You sent Jesus to pay the penalty for our sin. Please help us to live as Your forgiven children, motivated by Your love in all we do. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

Goliath vs. GOD

Then Goliath, a Philistine champion from Gath, came out of the Philistine ranks to face the forces of Israel. He was a giant of a man, measuring over nine feet tall! . . . Goliath stood and shouted across to the Israelites, 'I defy the armies of Israel! Send me a man who will fight with me!' (1 Samuel 17:4, 8, 10 NLT)

Israel had lost all hope. Their arch nemesis, the Philistines, had brought out their big gun. His name was Goliath, and he was over nine feet tall! His immense height was matched only by his super-human strength. He walked around in a coat of armor that weighed 125 pounds, and he was proficient at throwing a spear weighing 15 pounds. To top it off, he had a bad attitude, and day after day, he taunted and hurled insults at the Israelites, baiting them to fight him to the death. This went on for 40 days.

Then one day David came into the camp with a care package for his enlisted brothers. In the course of his visit, he heard Goliath's mocking and asked:

'Who is this pagan Philistine anyway, that he is allowed to defy the armies of the living God?' (1 Samuel 17:26 NLT)

Before we get to the showdown in this scene, we need see the significance of what David is saying here. Every Israeli soldier saw this as a battle between Goliath and Israel, but David understood that it was really a fight between Goliath and God. That's because long ago the Lord had promised Abraham that He would be against anyone who cursed or came against his descendants (Genesis 12:3).

David was aware of this promise, so he had great confidence that Goliath wouldn't and couldn't prevail. It didn't matter how tall, strong, or mean Goliath was. All that mattered in David's heart was what God had promised in His Word.

Perhaps there's a 'Goliath' taunting you who has you fixed in fear at this very moment. Don't allow that to be your focus, but rather, make God's Word your rule of life. When you do, the promises there will remind you that God is on your side, which means you're invincible to any enemy's attack.

If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31 NKJV)
